Center for VLSI and Embedded System Technologies (CVEST)

The Center for VLSI and Embedded System Technologies (CVEST), set up in 2002, undertakes technological research in different areas like reconfigurable computing, cryptographic hardware, VLSI arithmetic etc.

CVEST offers B Tech (Honors) program for the BTech (ECE) students in the field of VLSI and Embedded Systems. Interested students are given the option of specialization in this field in the third year of their BTech program.

Students taking up the honors program do all the compulsory courses as per the BTech (ECE) curriculum. They have to do three extra subjects and two extra projects in the area of their interest.

Following are the some of the core and advanced courses that honor’s students specializing in VLSI and Embedded Systems study:

B Tech (ECE) students specializing in VLSI and Embedded systems have worked in the following areas:

  1. VLSI Arithmetic
  2. Cryptographic Hardware
  3. Low power VLSI Design
  4. Reconfigurable Computing
  5. Advanced computer Architecture
  6. Quantum computing
  7. DSP in VLSI

Also, students gain familiarity in using the programming languages like Matlab, C and ASM and tools like P-Spice.
